Umpteen rock solid reasons to be one month late with your podcast
May 28, 2009 9
Our fourth podcast is over three weeks late. But we can explain. Yes, we can! We are wrapping it up as we are writing this, so pull up your socks and get ready for about 20 minutes of your monthly marketing technology update. In the meantime, we took the liberty of giving you an overview of our best excuses ever.
Umpteen reasons. Carefully handpicked for you.
All reasons mentioned below are licensed ‘creative commons attribution‘, so you are free to adapt them to your liking and use and abuse them for any reason you think fit ;-).
- We have been very busy lately talking at Stichting Marketing’s Data Driven Marketing Congress and gave proof of how the use of social media can truly be beneficial to your marketing efforts.
- We invited 20 marketing and communication students over with a last-minute initiative we set up, called ‘Student Seats‘. Over noon we discussed how today’s students use social media. Advertisers joined in and sure learned a thing or two about this young target audience.
- We presented our view on the future of paper for Sappi, the world-wide leader in the coated paper business. And no, we didn’t end up getting lynched after saying analogue is dead ;-). We were even asked to speak once more for their board. We’ll share that presentation afterwards.
- We handed out an AdNerds Multi-Mania award and also explained to the nerds in the room why they will eventually rule the world. You can find this presentation on Slideshare. It was “presentation of the day” and has over 1400 views already! Time to celebrate, because it was our second presentation which was top of the bill for a day.
- We spoke at the GRP Media School to a bunch of media students. We made them look beyond metrics such as GRPs and typical site stats.
- We worked on some internal projects, both for Proximity BBDO and Proximity Worldwide.
- We spent time on projects for clients. We’ll get back to you about this real soon.
- Proximity Worldwide has a new housestyle. Which is why we will be restyling our own adnerds.be site as well. The new look & feel will be rolled out during the next few weeks.
- We have been working on a business plan for the AdNerds as new business finds us like flies find sh$t (inside joke – check slide 35). We will share our credential presentation soon on our new adnerds.be website (see the previous rock solid reason).
- We have been lazy, during the weekends that is.
- …
As one thing always leads to another, we were invited to be keynote speakers on both the student and business tracks for the Media Mainiax event hosted and organized by Epic TV (Norwich, England). Our colleagues from Proximity Prague invited us over to speak in July on their Digirati sessions, a spin-off of our own Digital Natives sessions of last year.

Great podcast guys. Just like democamp, startupcamp, barcamps of the world i think that an RFIDCamp should see the day in the next few months in Montreal. RFID has a lot of power of merging both worlds.
Cheers
