Adobe MAX 2009: The Fun Part (which was interesting)
October 14, 2009 5
It’s not that I’m a frequent traveller and have been to many places. But Los Angeles is definitely the most noisy place ever in my booklet. There was some weird veil of smog hanging over town. From the air, LA looked like an industrial park roughly half the size of Belgium. On the ground it seemed smaller but it still looked like an hangar city where your average street is broader than any Belgian highway I know of with three lanes in each direction. And with lotsa cars driving around. Lotta lotsa cars.
But despite the noise and smog, Adobe Max 2009 to me basically meant fun and interesting stuff.
The conference was absolutely perfectly organized (kudos to Abobe) and hosted in the Convention Center (sessions) and the Nokia Theatre (keynotes and award show).
We went primarily because we were an award finalist with ‘Pepsi Max It‘ in the Branding & Advertising Category, secretly hoping to win and take the award back home. The award show was huge. It was a lot of fun. And as I was filming, I managed to hit the stop button at exactly the moment Luke Skywalker exclaimed our campaign and company name as the winner in the branding & advertising category. Boy, have I been hitting myself on the head for that!
“And the winner is Pe…”
At the party, we watched what we believed to be a cover band playing ‘The Doors’ exclusively. But then it dawned on us: they actually were ‘The Doors’. Ray Manzarek (age 70) on keyboard and Robby Krieger (age 63) on guitar. With a very decent Jim Morrison replacement in the person of Brett Scallions. Aren’t you experiencing a twinge of envy? Allright! You can have a taste of what we saw here.

‘this is a private video. If you have been sent this video, please make sure you accept the sender’s friend rewuest’ zijn niet meteen de woorden die ik van Luke skywalker verwacht :-(
