Each year, Howest (West Flanders’ college) hosts a free for all seminar with both national and international speakers. All speakers are flash, 3D, graphic or other new media-related experts. AdNerds are glad to be one stage together with inspiring speakers such as Aral Balkan, Peter Elst, Serge Jespers, Paul Burnett and many others.

AdNerd Multi-Mania AwardBesides inspiring sessions held for a crowd of approximately 1500 people, a jury rewards students of both Howest and other Belgian creative schools. There are many categories, rewarding the best flash projects, 3D work, artwork etc. New this year – and this is what we are extremely proud of – is the AdNerds Multi-Mani Award. An award that aims to make students aware of the interesting business of marketing and communications. Our session, “Why nerds will rule the world, conquering advertising first” has the same goal: point out how communication has changed the past few years and how true understanding of technology is a plus. We will be showcasing our Pepsimax.be website and explain how former students of Howest soldered real life objects to the Internet.

More info on how to subscribe for the awards and what the criteria are, can be found on the Multi-Mania website. Read below the requirements for the AdNerds Multi-Mania award:

For the first time this year, the AdNerds will be awarding inspired digital solutions with an indisputable marketing communication potential. Any technology is accepted as long as it can be used in the real world and as long as it can be deployed to reach the average consumer. Creative use of technology, attention grabbing potential and value for the user will determine the winners.

The prizes

The winner is rewarded with one laptop Eee PC 1000HE, laptopbag and optical mouse provided by Proximity BBDO.

Mobile Vikings gives each of the three winners one year of free calling and mobile Internet, worth 180 euros! They also get two Golden Passes give access for one year to Walibi, Bellewaerde and Aqualibi for 2 people – sponsored by Walibi. A poken is granted to the three winners as well.

All other nominees (place 4 to 7) get one Golden Pass for unlimited access this year to Walibi, Bellewaerde and Acqualibi. Alcatel Lucent gives each of the 7 nominees (there are 4 finalists) a Touchatag RFID-solution.
